alex warzilekAlexander Warzilek studied law in Graz, Austria and Athens, Greece. He was assistant at the Universities of Graz and Luzern, Switzerland, as well as researcher at the Institute of Tort and Insurance Law of the Austrian Academy of Science. Since 2010 Warzilek is the general manager of the Austrian Press Council. Together with Helmut Koziol he edited the antology “The Protection of Personality Rights against Invasions by Mass Media” and he is the author of various articles on media ethics and media law. Currently he is a lecturing at Universities of Applied Studies in Vienna and St.Pölten, Austria.
bv3Vilmos Both graduated in 1992 at the Budapest University of Economic Sciences. He worked as journalist, editor and editor in chief at ’NAPI Gazdaság” business daily. He worked for two years as producer at BBC World Service in London. In 2000 he became CEO of internet content and application provider econet.hu Plc. in Budapest. He works as a strategic and development policy consultant since 2003, mostly in the ICT sector. From the early years Vilmos was involved in the work of the Center for Independent Journalism (CIJ); for years he was chairman of the board of the Association of Hungarian Content Providers (MTE). He is a regular speaker at various local and international IT, media and internet conferences, workshops and seminars.
Brankica Petković
is a researcher at the Peace Institute, Ljubljana. Since the mid of 1990s, she has been leading national and regional research, advocacy and publishing projects in the fields of media accountability, media ownership and pluralism and communication rights of citizens and minority groups. Between 1997 and 2013 she lead the Media Watch project in Slovenia (more than 45 issues of the journal, almost 30 books, a web site and more than hundred events). She has been a project leader and lead researcher of regional projects focusing on media systems in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe (the latest on media integrity in 10 countries since 2012). She was member of European research teams on media policy issues, including co-regulation measures in the media sector; media pluralism indicators; indicators of independence of AVMS regulators; women and the media in the EU. She has been editor of books and a journal, author and co-author of research reports and articles. She holds MA in Sociology of Culture at the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, and is concluding her PhD at the same faculty on media system transformation in the countries of former Yugoslavia.

Her work involves collaborating with reporters, developers and editors to create data-driven news and investigations.
She has previously worked at the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and the “Bureau of Investigative Journalism.”
Dr. Christian-Mathias WellbrockDr. Christian-Mathias Wellbrock works as an Assistant Professor for media management at the University of Hamburg. His research interests are in the fields of media economics and management. He studied economics at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and the University of Hamburg. He received his PhD from the University of Hamburg for his work on economic analyses of journalistic quality. Wellbrock was a visiting doctoral fellow at the Media Management and Transformation Center in Jönköping and a visiting assistant professor at Michigan State University.
Márton Galambos has been working as a journalist for more than ten years. He started his career at Kreatív Magazin specializing in communication. He studied journalism at the Freie Universität Berlin for one year. He worked three years at the businees weekly Figyelő and became senior editor of the economy section of the news portal Origo.hu. He has been editor-in-chief of the Hungarian edition of Forbes magazine since 2013.
János HorvátJános Horvát, a television journalist, media expert and writer. He started his broadcasting career in 1969 as an anchor of political magazine programme of the Hungarian Television (MTV), later he produced international documentaries, worked as senior foreign correspondent. In 1989 he became director of MTV’s Channel-2, worked as a media adviser for national and international media companies, and from 2001 to 2006 he was president of SPORT1 TV. He taught journalism at universities (ELTE, PTE, BKF), Hungarian Film School and wrote manuals. János Horvát served as Ambassador of Hungary to Cuba (2006-2010). He graduated from ELTE Budapest, was a Nieman fellow at MIT and Harvard University (1976) and a research associate at the Freedom Forum Media Studies Center at Columbia University (1990-92). He is President of the Board of the Center for Independent Journalism (CIJ), Hungary.
Kim WannetKim Wannet is a management consultant at Van de Bunt, facilitator and meeting designer. She has ten years of experience in using scenario planning as a tool to help organizations and sectors with long-term thinking, strategy development, innovation and skill building. Her projects focus specifically on sectors that are undergoing major change and/or forcing to rethink fundamental aspects of their business as a consequence of more data, richer connectivity and changes in public trust: journalism and media, higher education and the labour market.
kjell nyhuusKjell Nyhuus is organization secretary for The Norwegian Press Complaints Commission (PCC). Nyhuus’ educational background is journalism and cultural studies. He has worked as a reporter for several media houses in Norway. Before joining the PCC he was teaching journalism ethics at The Norwegian Institute for Journalism for 15 years.
Tarmu TammerkTarmu Tammerk is ombudsman at the Estonian Public Broadcasting Company ERR. Since 2014, Tammerk has been President of the Organization of News Ombudsmen (ONO), the international group of media ombudsmen worldwide. Tammerk has a media career of more than 20 years. He is a founding member of the Estonian Press Council (a self-regulatory body to handle complaints from the public about media) and is one of the authors of the Estonian Code of Journalism Ethics.
He has worked for newspapers and radio stations in Estonia, and has been Estonian and Baltic correspondent for international news agencies Agence France-Presse and Reuters. Tammerk has been a speaker at training events on media self-regulation in the Baltic states, Russia, Moldova, Mongolia, China, Uzbekistan, as well as several countries in Central and Southeastern Europe.
Weyer BalázsBalázs Weyer is President of the Editors’ Forum which was established in 2012. He has taught journalism, including media ethics, investigative reporting and history of media technology courses at various universities, for example at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest Metropolitan University, Pázmány Péter University, Janus Pannonius Unversity and a visiting presenter in educational institutions of ten countries. he was editor-in-chief of Origo.hu from 2000 to 2011. Previously he worked as editor at RTL-Klub and other media organizations. He is often invited to conferences as a speaker. Apart from journalism Balázs Weyer is specialized in world and film music.
Janina FührJanina Führ – Lawyer and mediator, born in 1978, is working for the German Press Council in Berlin since 2006. She studied Law in Bonn, Clermont-Ferrand (F) and Berlin. Her specific working focus is on personal rights, data protection and media ethics. In addition to this, she joined and supported the act of foundation of the German Network of Press Ombudsmann (VDMO) in February 2012.
András Dunai is the President of the Association of Content Providers in Hungary (MTE) and director of the digital branch of the Centrál Mediagroup Zrt since 2012. From 2008 András Dunai worked as business manager of the same company owned at that time by Sanoma. Earlier he worked as deputy CEO of Telekom Montenegro (2005-2007), and was the business development and acquisition manager of Magyar Telekom. From 2001 to 2004 András Dunai held positions of the financial and controlling manager of Malév.
Tamás Tófalvy is the General Secretary of the Association of Content Providers in Hungary (MTE). He is associate professor of the Social Studies and Communication Department at the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences (GTK) at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). He is part of the media studies research team of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He was a Fulbright fellow at the Columbia University in 2012-2013, and a visiting researcher (Gyula Rézler fellow) at the Indiana University Bloomington in 2011. Alongside with research activities, he worked as a journalist specializing in communications. He is the founder of the Association of Music Networks.
